Laurie Essig gives an account of the California financial crisis. With all due respect to Laurie, I found the perspective to be misleading and often inaccurate. Thus, I could not help but feel the need to set the record straight.
Laurie lays much of the Golden State financial crisis at the feet of Ronald Reagan. While I’m normally as ready as the next liberal to participate in a good Reagan bashing, in this instance, I’m afraid it just doesn’t make sense.
When Reagan took office as the governor of California, he inherited a significant budget deficit. Acting as we would expect him to, Reagan immediately instituted a 10% across the board cut in state spending. But it didnt work. Within a year, Reagan realized that he had starved state government to the point where it wasn’t functioning.
In response, Reagan pushed a tax increase through the California legislature, resulting in Californias current highly progressive tax and producing one of the highest tax rates of any state in the nation. Hardly the fulfillment of Reaganomics that Laurie seems to blame for California’s financial woes. In reality, with the exception of the tax increase, Ronald Reagan is barely a footnote in California history. Had he not gone on to be the only California governor to become president, Reagan would not be remembered for having any impact whatsoever on the future of the state beyond having raised the income tax rates.
Laurie goes on to attack the unregulated greed, an alleged byproduct of Reaganomics, as the heart of the problem. In so doing, Laurie cites a 2007 UCLA study which reveals that poor and working class Californians had roughly the same wealth as other Americans in their circumstances, but that more of it was concentrated in home equity. This being the case, it isn’t particularly shocking that the study points out that California’s poor, working class and middle class carry more debt than other Americans. It is fair to expect that where there is home equity, there is a mortgage. And where there is a mortgage, there is debt.
But what this has to do with the current state financial crisis completely baffles me. Of course Californians, of all social stripes, carry more mortgage debt. California is the most expensive real estate market in America. If houses cost more than mortgage numbers are obviously going to be higher, thus debt is higher. Im not quite sure how Laurie proposes we regulate this short of moving the Pacific Ocean out some thousand miles to reduce the value of all that ocean front real estate.
Like most everyone else, I decry the sub-prime mortgage scenario that led to such disastrous results for so many. Would we have liked California to have had the foresight to better regulate the mortgage market? Of course- but its not like California is the only state to have failed to do so. In fact, not one state engaged in regulation impacting on sub-prime mortgages and clearly the federal government failed to do so. So why is California singled out as being somehow more deserving of the “greed” tag because it failed to provide more regulation of the mortgage practices?
In point of fact, more than any other state in the Union, California’s wealthy pay a disproportionate share of the taxes that keep the state operating (ironically, the result of Reagan’s progressive tax increase.)
California’s budget shortage is the direct result of (a) the reduced income and capital gains taxes being received from the upper end of the earning class as the economy has deteriorated and (b) the continuance of important state programs designed to aid pretty much everyone but the wealthy class. This is not a subjective point of view - this is a well recognized fact. Because of a constitutional requirement that the state spend 40% of its general budget on education, the state has struggled to continue other vital services in the face of dramatically shrinking revenues. Sooner or later, that must have an unhappy ending.
Income tax receipts are not down as a result of accounting tricks or tax loopholes in the state law. People just arent making as much money as they were before so they are paying less taxes. To the extend that capital gains are not flowing into the state coffers, this is largely the result of the upper class no longer paying taxes on big stock market profits because there are no big stock market profits. And if we want to review the loss of capital gains taxes tied to real estate, who do you think were the largest contributors to state receipts on that score?
I am not suggesting that the middle and lower classes are not suffering because they so clearly are. And the looming budget cuts in the state will only make their pain worse. But you couldn’t pick a worse state when attempting to make an argument that state government is failing because of the greed of rich people and the government’s support of the same. For those who may doubt this, you need only have a look at the state of California’s finances during the boom years. The state was flush with cash and huge budget surpluses. Why? The wealthy, who pay income taxes based on a progressive system, were pouring tons of money into the state coffers. Capital gains were huge and the state got their share.
As for the IOU thing, it would be good to understand just who it is that will be on the receiving end of these IOUs. Primarily, it will be those who do business with the state, not the “average” citizen. It will be those who own the office buildings who rent space for state offices, vendors of other services, etc. In other words, with some exceptions, the IOUs will be issued to those who Laurie defines as “the rich who get richer.”
If you truly want to find the crime behind the crisis, take a look at California’s legendary Prop 13- the amendment to the state constitution in 1978. While Prop 13 is best known for limiting the property taxes Californians pay on our previously over-valued homes, it is another part of the law that has resulted in California becoming an ungovernable state, incapable of intelligently managing its budgets.

An abstract of this article was send to all the subscribers of Joni Bells information email messages. The complete article follows.
There has been a lot of hoopla about the PSA prostate cancer test for men primarily over the age of 40. I have written several small articles (circa mid 1990s) about the inaccuracy of this test in the past but now it has come to the point that it is a Billion Dollar Scam on all males of the world, but mostly American men. It is one of the highest profile tests for men that exists today.
If you dont believe me then read about it in The New York Times and The Washington Post. They both say the PSA test is basically worthless.
Why do I call it a . Because it is being touted as a means to improve the health of all men and protect them from getting cancer. This is just not a true statement. High PSA levels do not indicate cancer. What a high PSA does indicate is that there is something happening to cause inflammation of the prostate. It could be cancer but most times it is not cancer. A recent infection causing an enlargement of the prostate would be indicated by a high PSA level.
Consider this. Every may over the age of 50 will die with a prostate cancer condition, BUT only a very few men will die from prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is very, very slow growing and will have almost no effect on the quality of a mans life.
One thing the pressure to get a PSA test does if to provide the medical professionals the information that they use to drive men to go the next step and get a biopsy. These biospys are very risky as the process of a puncture into the prostrate could spread the cancer, even if it is very small, through the rest of the body. Now that person has cancer for real.
Stanford University had on it staff one Dr. Thomas Stamey. He was one of the original advocates of PSA testing. But Dr. Stanley changed because in 2004 at a medical conference he exposed the risks with the PSA test. Dt. Stamey made the comment in his lecture We have been so thorough and effective in screening for prostate cancer over this 20-year period that PSA no longer has a relationship to prostate cancer. Because we all develop the cancer, were now removing prostates from men whose cancer is so small that htey do not need the procedure. Were finding all these little cancers that are never going to be a danger to the patient. In smaller cancers, the PSA test is not relevant anymore; you might as well biopsy a man because he has blue eyes.
Over time the PSA test has become more frequent and the decision point to begin therapy has started sooner and more aggressive even though the prostate cancer is clinically insignificant. The usual will be for radiation, surgery and chemotherapy. The oncologists will take all the credit for an increased survival rate of men with prostate cancer. The failure in the whole system is that these men would have survived anyway. Now these men have to face incontinence, impotence and other diseases. It is say that medical politics and greed has driven the medical establishment to the level of a scam as initially mentioned above.
To avoid all the above what do men do?
Be aware of what you need to do to keep a healthy prostate. It is a gland so it needs good blood circulation and lymphatic circulation and drainage. Exrcise will accomplish this better than any one other thing. Walking moves all the muscles in the pelvic area. If you sit 8 hours a day because thats your job, then you need to take extra time to walk and it will increase your chanced of NOT having a prostate problem.
Avoid intense sexual excitement without a natural conclusion of ejaculation. This causes engorgement of the gland and if it continues for a long period of time it could lead to structural and functional damage to the prostate. A regular sexual habit is best.
It is best if you can avoid a diet that is very heavy in meats which would include beef, veal, port and poultry. Hormones previously used in cattle production of beef are mostly outlawed. Poultry producers have no such restriction. This includes chickens and turkeys.
Instead eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, organic is preferred. Juicing twice a day is especially beneficial. Juicing twice a day combined with at least 8 - 8 ounce glasses of pure filtered water will do wonders in the cleansing of the urinary tract and the body in general. Do not overindulge in coffee and alcohol.
How can you tell if you are starting to have a prostate problem. Here are some of the signs.

The Cherokee Indians, as is the case with all native people, use insightful stories to convey meaning and seek understanding of people and their behavior. One such story that the elders tell their children is about fighting wolves. They say that inside every person are two wolves constantly fighting. One of these wolves is an evil character who is angry, jealous, lazy, impatient, self-centered, egotistical, negative, irresponsible and unforgiving. The other wolf is loving, kind, generous, humble, caring, enterprising, positive and responsible. Typically, a child when told about this will ask which wolf wins? To which question the elder will answer which ever one you feed.
Which wolf are you feeding?
In todays busy world it is so easy to be drawn into negative thoughts, to complain, to blame circumstances, to become angry and impatient. And the more we allow this to define our behavior, the worse it seems to get and the less content we are. In other words, what we give most mental attention to seems to be what actually becomes our realitya self fulfilling prophecy so to speak. Now, it is said that 90% of what we do each day is driven by habit. A habit is simply learned behavior so if you can learn a habit you can unlearn it i.e. replace it with a better habit or as the Cherokee might say, feed the good wolf.
My point here is that if you are not enjoying a great life then you are most likely feeding the wrong wolf. You need to change your habits by consciously eliminating those that you know are not useful to you and adopting those that you know are useful. Im told that a habit (of any sort) can be broken withing 3 to 6 weeks but you have to work at it. Having been a very heavy smoker, I know exactly what this means but I also know that it gets easier over time. If a smoking habit can be changed so can any behavioral habit! You can, in other words, dramatically change your life simply by consciously looking at your behavior and taking a decision (i.e. thinking about then acting upon) to adopt a different thinking habit.
Im in the process of reviewing questionnaires from people who will be attending a Boot Camp in London and a fairly typical response to a question I ask on your key frustrations is something like: lack of original thinking from the team and the speed with which they deliver. I have heard this a thousand times and I can say with confidence that as long as you believe (i.e. think about) your team members lack the ability for original thought and/or are inherently slow, that will continue to be the prevailing outcome.
People under-perform for one of two reasons: indifference or incompetence. If it is the latter get rid of them. If its the former, you need to ask yourself why is that person indifferent? Ill bet youll find the answer in the area of communication and since what you think about (that person and his/her ability) determines what you talk about I suspect youre allowing yourself to be drawn into negative thoughts about that person. This will result in you being unwilling to stretch that person through delegation, a reluctance to invest in training and a failure to help that person see the picture (your vision) for your business and how s/he fits in with that.
When I meet with the Principals of firms that are doing extraordinarily well financially, the defining characteristic that separates them from those that are not doing anywhere near as well is in the way they talk about their people, their clients, their vision for the future of their firm and their passion for what they are doing both personally and professionally. These firms are drawing their team members from exactly the same labor pool, they service the same type of clients, offer the same type of services, use the same technology as other firms and yet they are getting superior results.
It is not, therefore, a question of what resources you have to work with its how you work with these resources and the comes back to what you think about. If you think the same thoughts as and if you believe you will experience the same outcomes as they do you will be a winner, its really that simple; its called modeling excellence. This is something that Kerry King will be talking about at our Annual Conference in Brisbane next week.
Ill leave you with this thought from Jack Canfield, author of the best selling Chicken Soup series of books.

In other words, this murderer doesn't believe in the rule of law. He believes that any one of us can murder another, just based on our own personal beliefs.
It is nothing more than anarchy in God's name. If we follow this to the logical conclusion, then each of us is free to do whatever we like, so long as our personal religion, whatever god or gods we worship, tell us it's OK.
Well, this assassin is wrong. There is no salvation in his afterlife. Nobody is going to forgive him. He won't live happily ever after. Nobody will be singing his praises. He is not a hero. He is nothing more than a cold-blooded murder, anarchist, and self-important fool.
Instead, the State has already captured the man, and he'll be found guilty of first-degree premeditated murder. He'll spend the rest of his life in prison, and may even be executed by the State.
Which is as it should be. Nobody is above the law.
Christians, Jews, Muslims, and surely others, will decry this murder, saying that God does not approve or condone such behavior in His name. But they're wrong just look in the first few books of the Bible and you'll find many, many instances of people, families, cities and even whole lands, murdered on a whim or for trivial offenses, or for the misdeeds of just a few, or even just because God wanted them out of the way. These horrifying tales of murder and genocide are taught to children and adults alike as moral lessons.
When a murder takes place in God's name, like the murder of Dr. Tiller, all the Christians and Jews can do is find yet another quote from their Bible, "'Vengeance is mine, I will repay,' sayeth the Lord." (Romans 12:19). But that's a pure cover-up. The Bible is such a pile of conflicting morals and baffling lessons, anybody can claim just about anything they like, and find a passage of the Bible that backs them up. Apparently this murderer didn't get to Romans, he read Genesis, Exodus and Leviticus and learned his lessons about murder and genocide there.
Those of you who think that this murder doesn't represent your religion, think again. This is exactly why the Bible is a terrible source of morality.

The real estate market in todays economic environment is a tough one. It has certainly become abundantly clear that its a buyers market! The DC and surrounding areas are still one one of the housing sectors which have maintained their value. Working with an expert realtor is critical for navigating a cumbersome and often difficult process. DROdio Real Estate provides expert service when trying to find a home in Washington DC. This company offers a refreshing and unique approach to buying a home. They understand that although most people need an expert to handle the process of the sale, the initial interest in a particular home is a reserved and private matter. The owners of the company allow full access to their MLS database so that you can review the entire selection of homes. DROdio Real Estate also offers detailed directions and a loaner GPS to find that home without incident. They do all of this and more, because they know by giving the buyer the ultimate freedom to chose will indirectly result in trust being gained organically. The company website provides very detailed information on the home buying process and what you should expect from a realtor. DROdio Real Estate believes that selling a home should be more than just a commission, but a process by which the home buyer truly trusts the realtor.

open publishing newswire: We are inviting activists of all shades to our Action Camp May 23-25. This will be our kick-off event for Cascadia Summer, a season of action in defense of native forests left standing on Oregon's public lands.
At the camp we will be hosting trainings in a range of subjects such as tree climbing and rigging, anti-oppression, non-violent direct action, jail support and much more. We are facing thousands of acres of native forest clearcuts in Oregon this summer and training is the first step toward action. While the Green Scare has targeted our communities, we must make it clear that this culture will live on and even thrive regardless of state repression. We cordially invite you to help create and share the joyful, colorful, resistance culture that we hold so dear. It is our solemn obligation to keep the flame alive in dark times; so come to learn and stay to fight. This summer we will be dispatching a diversity of tactics from direct action to community education. We will have a camp in the forest and friendly houses in the city and we're inviting comrades young and less young, experienced and less experienced to join us for a summer, a month or just a few days. As long as the forests are threatened and we are able, every summer will be Cascadia Summer.
The action camp will be hosted 45 minutes outside of our campaign base of Eugene in the forests of Oregon. Visit www.forestdefensenow.org for more information or email forestdefensenow@gmail to arrange accommodations/rideshares ready for you when you arrive for the festivities.

As traditional wedding activities such as throwing the bouquet and finding the garter come and go in popularity, so too does the traditional wedding cake. Jon and I are not cake people -- we're more the brownie, cookie, doughnut and ice cream types. So when it came time to make the decision of whether of not to have a wedding cake, we initially shrugged it off. Cakes can range anywhere from $100 to thousands of dollars. With flavors ranging from classic chocolate and vanilla to dulce de leche and s'mores, the options have certainly kept up with the times. Yet, even when you do find a great tasting cake, most people don't even touch it once it's sliced and on a plate.
That said -- call me a traditionalist -- part of me still wants to actually feed my new husband on our first wedded day together. We started playing around with options -- cupcakes (been there, done that), bars, mini pies -- we just can't pinpoint what we want.
Did you offer a dessert bar or cake or both at your wedding? Especially if you offered something out of the ordinary, please share your sweet ideas with me in the comment section.

For everyday freshness, during your period, or when travelling, Natracare certified Organic Cotton natural wipes, enriched with Calendula and Chamomileare gentle for cleansing delicate skin because we only use ingredients derived from plants and never use the harsh chemicals and damaging preservatives used in everyday wipes.Choosing natracare natural organic cotton intimate wipes allows you to avoid materials derived from petrochemicals, and skin irritating ingredients such as propylene glycol, phenoxyethanol, and formaldehyde releasing preservatives such as imidazolidinyl urea, which is the second most identified cosmetic preservative causing contact dermatitis according to The American Academy of Dermatology.Almost all wet and dry wipes available today are made from polypropylene (PP) or its cousin polyolefin, materials that are derived from petroleum. The wipes are usually embossed at low temperatures in order to make the wipe appear much thicker than it actually is. In this way, embossed wipes are being sold at a higher price because marketing people determine that the consumer will think it is a better quality wipe because it is thicker, and therefore, is willing to pay more for the privilege of using even more materials that will not biodegrade. It is not how thick a wet wipe pack is that is important to Natracare, but what the wipe is made from and what chemicals it holds that can potentially damage our bodies and the environment. Many people are now becoming concerned about the long term effects of using products that contain parabens because of the recent findings indicating a potential link to breast cancer . In the 1930?s, scientists developed something that could preserve creams. Synthetic Methyl, Ethyl and Propyl Parabens were developed from benzoic acid. Researchers from the Department of Biology and Biochemistry of Brunel University in the UK have conducted a study and found that once these parabens are in our system, they stay in there.

Excerps from the study:
Pycnogenol® was chosen due to a history of studies of the extract to alleviate inflammation by inhibiting COX-1, COX-2 and the pro-inflammatory nuclear factor-kappa B, said lead researcher Dr. Ronald Watson from the University of Arizona. Pycnogenol® offers a safe nutritional approach to significantly reduce pain and improve physical function of arthritic joints. It controls inflammation and thus ideally complements existing strategies that comprise delivery of building blocks for replacement of degenerated cartilage.
After two months of supplementation, physical function and pain scores improved in the Pycnogenol® group. After three months in the Pycnogenol® group, there was a reduction of 43 percent in pain, 35 percent in stiffness, 52 percent in physical function subscales and 49 percent composite WOMAC. The placebo group showed no significant scores throughout the entire study. Oh well, it sucks to be the placebo group! They can always start taking the OPC-3 to relieve their pain.
Pycnogenols® natural anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties were responsible for delivering these excellent results, said Watson. This study shows that supplementing with Pycnogenol® can fight joint inflammation and soothe the pain and stiffness, thus pave the path for cartilage renewal with substances such as glucosamine.
My comments:
Dennis Franks, the Philadelphia Eagles captain a while back, is a big promotor of OPC-3 as well as Glucosatrin, a product for healthy joints and bones. Dennis got banged around playing football during his sports career and has some joint issues and uses and promotes both of the products himself.

Each year for the past 34 years, NBC 11Alive has honored 11 outstanding local volunteers who have demonstrated selfless devotion for the betterment of the community. The honorees, some famous, some not, contribute to the community in a host of different ways, but all share a deep commitment and drive to do their part to make the world a better place. Among the award recipients this year is baseball superstar Tom Glavine, honored for his work in the community and with CURE Childhood Cancer to fight childhood cancer.
All of us at CURE have long known of Atlanta Braves’ pitcher Tom Glavine’s extraordinary commitment to childhood cancer. But Tom’s remarkable effort to make it to the black-tie dinner held to honor him left no doubt in anyone’s mind. Just two hours before the tuxedos and evening gowns arrived at the Marriott Marquis on April 1, Tom was on the pitchers mound clinching a win for the Atlanta Bravesin Florida! Dashing from the mound to the airport to catch a flight home, where his wife greeted his plane with tuxedo in hand before a mad dash downtown for the dinner, Tom made clear that community – and kids with cancer – matter to him. “These kids inspire me. They are the real heroes in life,” Tom said of the littlest cancer victims he works tirelessly to help.
Tom and his wife, Chris, are tireless champions for CURE Childhood Cancer and the children and families we serve. “We have chosen to focus our efforts with CURE because the organizations main objective is to aggressively raise funds for childhood cancer research and ultimately fund a cure for childrens cancers,” says Chris Glavine. At a time when less than two percent of all federal funding for cancer research is dedicated to solving cancers that impact children, the Glavines unrelenting dedication to raising awareness and funding for CURE Childhood Cancer is crucial. The dollars they help to raise fund groundbreaking research conducted right here in Atlanta.
“Words are too small to adequately thank the Glavines for all they give to CURE,” says CURE’s Executive Director Kristin Connor. “Tom and Chris are passionate advocates for children with cancer. They understand that funding ongoing research is vital to advancing treatments that will ultimately cure for these brave children.”
“While the kids with cancer are our true unsung heroes, we are so blessed to have Tom and Chris serve as their advocates - and CUREs,” Connor adds. “They are making a real difference in the lives of these children and their families.”
The black tie event, held at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis and sponsored by The Coca-Cola Company and UPS, will be aired on 11Alive/WXIA-TV on Saturday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 12th at 12:30 p.m. on WATL.

The revolving chandelier has four half reflective, half transparent light-shades. The light-shades are shaped like a propellor and balance on a small steel tip. The rising air, heated by the three halogen bulbs makes all four light-shades rotate. The idea of heat making a light-shade rotate is nothing new of course..many of you probably had a bed light when you were young with a small rotating landscape scene. One day in the near future halogen lights will probably be banned. I still dont know if this is good or bad. Up untill now there still is no good energy efficient full-spectrum replacement for the halogen bulbs. In the case of the revolving chandelier, at least the excess energy (heat in stead of light) is used to do something extra for the light..making it revolve silently and make the whole light twinkle like an oldfashoined chandelier. The revolving chandelier is produced in a limited edition of 12.

I know the basics, like feeding, grooming and stuff I just dont know if I have been doing it right or wrong and if there is anything that I am completely leaving out
She is a 16 year old mare before I got her, my uncle had gotten her from a pasture that had been flooded that the owner just left her in, so she had rain rot from her stomach down but he got her better, she has also had three babys, one filly and a set of twin foals but I think they all died after a few weeks/ or months of birth. Thats about all I know about her since i have had her, she poked her eye on a tree branch and we had to rush her to the vet because it was swollen and full of puss but it healed perfect and caused no damage to her vision. She is very calm and kind of clumsy.

Suddenly a breezy sunny afternoon became a gusty cold one. In this part of the world, just dialing down the sun a little bit will make you reach for a jacket. And then the wind! Below: this is what some folks call walking rain when they see it dragging across a mountain range, but to me that means the sheets of rain from distant thunderstorms. Pretty much the same thing, just a difference of degree.

The main chemical in marijuana appears to aid in the destruction of brain cancer cells, offering hope for future anti-cancer therapies, researchers in Spain wrote in a study released Thursday.
The authors from the Complutense University in Madrid, working with scientists from other universities, found that the active component of marijuana, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), causes cancer cells to undergo a process called autophagy the breakdown that occurs when the cell essentially self-digests.
The research, which appears in the April edition of US-published Journal of Clinical Investigation, demonstrates that THC and related appear to be a new family of potential antitumoral agent. The authors wrote that the chemical may prove useful in the development of future antitumoral agents.
The scientists conducted their research on mice, first stimulating the growth of cancer in the lab animals, then injecting them with a daily dose of THC near the site of their tumors.
The researchers also analyzed the tumors of two patients in an experimental trial looking at the effects of THC on a highly aggressive form of brain tumor, and saw findings in line with the preclinical evidence first observed in the laboratory mice.

Natural cures for Cancer? Is that possible? In a world where the Pharmaceutical giants would have people believe that the only way to deal with any illness is via their fancy and expensive drugs it is comforting to know that there are alternatives. Natural cures and remedies are available to treat almost any illness and Cancer is not an exception.
Cancer touches the lives of so many people with such profound effect. Fear and confusion, pain and anguish all have their say, and the often harsh treatments prescribed bring with them additional physical and emotional stresses. Natural cures for Cancer can offer alternative approaches to treatment which help the body to heal itself and in doing so give relief in a much more comfortable and sympathetic way.
Chemotherapy, in its fight to eradicate Cancerous cells from the body, can have some pretty alarming side effects. Loss of hair is the obvious visual effect that most of us are familiar with but the list of other possible complications from the use of Chemotherapy Thirteen drugs is extensive. Prolonged vomiting, tissue death (Necrosis), lethargy, damage to bone marrow, muscle movement co-ordination difficulty (Ataxis), Cellulite, hardening of veins (Phlebosclerosis), Liver and/or Kidney failure, these are only a selection of the side effects often experienced. Surgery and Radiation Treatment also have their own risks.
At a time when the body is already using precious energy to combat the effects of a cancerous invasion just one, let alone a combination, of these unwanted side effects could be enough to hasten the spread of the disease. In studies conducted by leading US doctors, The Harvard School of Public Health, and noted by the American Medical Association, results have indicated that patients who refused medical procedures enjoyed a lesser rate of mortality than those who had accepted. As an example, one such study suggests that patients suffering Breast Cancer had a life expectancy four times longer without conventional treatment than would be the case if a conventional treatment regimen were followed. Yet doctors continue to prescribe these treatments. Why?
Most would suspect one simple reason, MONEY. It has been estimated that one single average cancer patient in the US can generate in excess of $1 million in revenues to the cancer industry. It becomes easy to understand why doctors will not explore the use of Natural Cures for Cancer when surgical and pharmaceutical treatments carry such high $ values.
Natural Cancer Cures are gentle and non invasive. Where Chemo attacks the body in its efforts to destroy cancer cells, natural remedies work with the bodys natural defences to heal without the risk of side effects, and without the risk of the treatment actually being more dangerous than the cancer itself.
Natural Cancer Cures are real and should not be dismissed without serious consideration.

(CNN) The head of the U.N. Childrens Fund expressed concern Monday over a Saudi judges refusal for a second time to annul a marriage between an 8-year-old girl and a 47-year-old man.
Irrespective of circumstances or the legal framework, the marriage of a child is a violation of that childs rights, said Ann Veneman, executive director of UNICEF.
The right to free and full consent to marriage is recognized in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Consent cannot be free and full when either party to a marriage is too young to make an informed decision.
The most recent ruling, in which the judge upheld his original verdict, was handed down Saturday in the Saudi city of Onaiza, where late last year the same judge rejected a petition from the girls mother, seeking a divorce for her daughter.
A relative said the judge, Sheikh Habib al-Habib, stuck by his earlier verdict and insisted that the girl could petition the court for a divorce once she reached puberty. The family member, who requested anonymity, added that the mother will continue to pursue a divorce for her daughter.
The case, which has drawn criticism from local and international rights groups, came to light in December when al-Habib declined to annul the marriage on a legal technicality. The judge ruled that the girls mother who is separated from her father was not the girls legal guardian and therefore could not represent her in court, Abdullah al-Jutaili, the mothers attorney, told CNN at the time.
The girls father, according to the lawyer, arranged the marriage in order to settle his debts with the man, who is a close friend of his. At the time of the initial verdict, the judge required the girls husband to sign a pledge that he would not have sex with her until she reaches puberty, al-Jutaili told CNN. The judge ruled that when the girl reaches puberty, she will have the right to request a divorce by filing a petition with the court, the lawyer said.
Last month, an appeals court in the Saudi capital of Riyadh declined to certify the original ruling, in essence rejecting al-Habibs verdict, and sent the case back to him for reconsideration.
Under the complicated Saudi legal process, the appeals court ruling meant that the marriage was still in effect, but that a challenge to the marriage was still ongoing. The appeals court in Riyadh will now take up the case again and a hearing is scheduled for next month, according to the relative.
The issue of child marriage has been a hot-button topic in the deeply conservative kingdom recently. While rights groups have petitioned the government for laws to protect children from such marriages, the kingdoms top cleric has said that its OK for girls as young as 10 to wed.
It is incorrect to say that its not permitted to marry off girls who are 15 and younger, Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Sheikh, the kingdoms grand mufti, said in remarks last January, according to the regional Al-Hayat newspaper. A girl aged 10 or 12 can be married. Those who think shes too young are wrong, and they are being unfair to her.
Al-Sheikh reportedly made the remarks when he was asked during a lecture about parents forcing their underage daughters to marry.
We hear a lot in the media about the marriage of underage girls, he said, according to the newspaper. We should know that sharia law has not brought injustice to women.
Sharia law is Islamic law. Saudi Arabia follows a strict interpretation of Islam called Wahhabism.

Christoph Wilcke, a Saudi Arabia researcher for Human Rights Watch, told CNN in December that his organization has heard of many other cases of child marriages.
ve been hearing about these types of cases once every four or five months because the Saudi public is now able to express this kind of anger especially so when girls are traded off to older men, Wilcke said.
Wilcke said that although Saudi ministries might make decisions designed to protect children, It is still the religious establishment that holds sway in the courts, and in many realms beyond the court.
In December, Zuhair al-Harithi, a spokesman for the Saudi government-run Human Rights Commission, said his organization is fighting against child marriages.
The Human Rights Commission opposes child marriages in Saudi Arabia, al-Harithi said. Child marriages violate international agreements that have been signed by Saudi Arabia and should not be allowed. He added that his organization has been able to intervene and stop at least one child marriage from taking place.
Wajeha al-Huwaider, co-founder of the Society of Defending Womens Rights in Saudi Arabia, told CNN that achieving human rights in the kingdom means standing against those who want to keep us backward and in the dark ages.
She said the marriages cause girls to lose their sense of security and safety. Also, it destroys their feeling of being loved and nurtured. It causes them a lifetime of psychological problems and severe depression.
