Open Question: desperately seeking a residential program for my son?
After spending 6 months identifying a program for my son who has ADD and behavioral issues the school shut down. He went for several months after I spent 3 months in discussions with them and finally convinced them to work with me based on my catastrophic financial situation. I am going through a very difficult divorce and my husband is basically taking everything from the house to health insurance to car insurance away from us. He was abusive and I had him taken out of the house. He now is on a mission to destroy us all. With that, I have no place for my son to go to school in the fall. He has special needs and requires a structured atmosphere in a residential program that will fulfill his personal needs. He loved the school I had found for him and now remains in limbo. I greatly appreciate any suggestions on how I will find a good program that will work with us financially at this late date. Financial aid is no longer an option in most programs and the district will require a fight to assist us. Please help!

Open Question: Am I dying? I'm vomiting blood...?
I'm vomiting blood and constantly have diarrhea. I have little energy and lost 20 pounds in 3 months. I'm now 130 pounds at 6'2. I also have yellow colored eyes and I keep having a pain in my chest like a knife wound. I don't have any health insurance and I'm alone. What should I do? I don't want to affect my credit in America.

Resolved Question: How does a medical insurance deductible work?
I'm a little confused- I'm looking up health insurance plans (I haven't been to a doctor since 1997) and I'm not sure I understand deductibles. Many plans say they won't pay for medical costs until you pay the deductible, say for example $5000. Does that mean you have to send $5000 all at once to the insurance company before you can start using your medical benefits (dr.office visits, ER visits, etc.)? If I had that kind of money, I wouldn't be looking for health insurance, I'd just buy the healthcare upfront, lol.

Voting Question: Will my prescription meds show up in a pre-employment drug screening?? Need Legit answers, not speculation.?
Now before anyone goes and thinks im a pill popper or addict here's what im trying to figure out... I am having a job interview with a company that is extremely nosy when it comes to the medical history of its interviewees. I know this because i interviewed with them a few years ago for a position only to find out that my bmi was too high to work for them at the time and that they wont hire smokers. The nurses who assessed my medical history had all sorts of questions concerning my health and prescription drug consumption. Basically because this company doesn't want to hire anyone who is sick or on a lot of meds because they strive to keep their operational costs (health insurance premiums included) Low. So here's what i take... I started to take Wellbutrin or generic Budrepion as an aid for smoking cessation a few years back. Once i started taking it i realized what other positive effects it had on my persona and my doctor advised that i stay on it. I also on occasion take xanax, not every day, but maybe 1 every few days when my anxiety gets really high. I need to know if either of these meds will show up in a urine test or a hair follicle test. If not, then i shouldn't have to disclose my private medical information to this greedy company. Its amazing that they will pass over the best quailfied candidate for a job for the smallest health concern BTW, I dont feel comfortable disclosing what company it is that i am interviewing for, but i will say it is a union job, for a fortune 100 company that has some strange pre-employment polcies. And the strangest thing of all is that once you work there you can have as many issues and be as morbidly overweight as you want and they will put you on leave and pay you to get better and/or loose weight.

Open Question: My girlfriend is pregnant and she just lost her job? Which means she lost her health coverage?
My fiancé is pregnant? Shes going to be laid off in a couple weeks. She had health insurance through her job but thats going to be end once shes laid off. I can add her to health plan but its going to cost an extra $500 a month. I just cant afford that right now. Especially with her not working. We live in California is the any other options. Also the job less was all of sudden. This came out of blue. Now she wont be able to take a maternity leave. Is she eligible for unemployment or disability? We save up enough money to get by for a couple a month or two but Im not sure how much its going to last. Thanks for help in advance. Thank for all of your help. I really appreciate it. We are going to the county office today to apply for medi-cal. She had been going to Kaiser but Im not sure if Kaiser accepts medi-cal. When any of you heard of AIM. I would rather pay a discounted rate than get it for free. Im able to pay at least 100-200 a month. I dont really want the state to take care of my child or her when Im able too. also my girl friend had so issue with unemployment before. They over paid her and she had to pay this back. Not sure she will be able to get unemployment now.

The FDA has received reports regarding the effects of the drugs varenicline (Chantix) and buproprion (Zyban, Wellbutrin and generics). The agency reportedly started receiving reports two years ago, which included the onset of symptoms such a depression, suicidal thoughts and tendencies, agitation, hostility and other such changes in behavior. Among varenicline users, almost a hundred ended up committing suicide, while more than 180 have attempted suicide. There weren’t as many among buproprion users, with 14 suicides and 17 attempted suicides throughout the drugs’ respective marketing histories.
The agency further recommended that clinicians should monitor patients who have been prescribed the drugs to help them quit smoking. There were cases that the symptoms were resolved with the mere cessation of treatment, although this does not happen all the time. Monitoring should not only occur while a patient is in the midst of treatment but even after stopping medication, until such times that the symptoms have been fully resolved. While such neuropsychiatric symptoms are also characteristic of nicotine withdrawal, these also occurred in patients who are still smoking while taking the drugs.
Aside from placing warning labels on their products, the manufacturers of varenicline and buproprion will also be required to conduct a clinical trial which will look into the appearance of neuropsychiatric symptoms in patients who are taking the drugs. The trial should include patients who already have psychiatric disorders as a pre-existing condition before taking the drugs.
The drugs’ labels will also be updated to include, aside from the warning on neuropsychiatric risks, information about allergic and skin reactions as well as the risk of accidental injury when driving or operating machinery while taking the drugs.

You may wonder why weight management has grown into the mega industry it has reached today. There are two answers to this question. The first is that obesity has become so prevalent in modern society mainly due to bad food and sedentary lifestyles. Also, modern fashion has dictated that slimness is the ideal and many of us are motivated by vanity to purse this ideal.
A person is ill advised to use fad diets as a means to tackle weight loss. Many fad diets are actually crash diets which have been proved to be detrimental to health. The effects are generally short lived anyway, and you could end up gaining weight as your bodys response to further starvation attacks.
It has been well documented that the best and most permanent way to lose weight is by observing a low fat and a low carbohydrate diet. It is also important to exercise regularly. By combining exercise and a proper calorie controlled diet your body has no choice but to shed excess pounds. Do not be tempted to diet without exercise or exercise without dieting. If you actually want to reduce your current weight the two measures are needed together.
You can keep to a low fat and a low carbs diet by avoiding products that are loaded with hidden fats, and also processed carbohydrate products such as white bread. Many pre-packaged products such as frozen pizza are to be totally avoided as these are the wrong sort of carbohydrate drenched in the wrong type of fats. Instead, go for pulses and whole grain rice that you cook yourself.
The best way to control your weight once you have achieved the ideal for your height and sex is to maintain a healthy diet and regular exercise. A healthy diet should include a good proportion of raw foods such as fruit and salad. You should also have a good range of vegetables and whole grains. Restrict the amount of red meat, poultry and dairy products.
The common mistake people make when they are trying to lose weight is to exchange sugared drinks and desserts with low calorie alternatives. This might be ok occasionally, but to overload your system with artificial sweeteners is harmful, and in some cases it is better to eat real sugar. Replace soda with water and freshly squeezed juice. If juice is made from concentrate, then you should dilute it before drinking.
There is no shortage of ways in which to incorporate regular exercise into your daily schedule. Simple measures such as walking or cycling to work may be enough to your exercise needs each day. Otherwise, you may prefer to join a gym, which is a good social option for getting exercise. If you enjoy music and dance, you can do a good aerobic or dance workout at home in front of the mirror each day. This is low cost and a great deal of fun.
A total approach is needed for effective weight management. This means a healthy diet and active lifestyle.

Smalam aku pi OU. Niat di hati nak shopping baju keje aku Honey. End up baju Danish Iman jugak yg kitorg borong! Iskk... that's the thing when you become parents. Skali semasa pi surau, terserempak Kucai, GG n anak2. So good to see them in person after so many years. Sblm ni dok tgk dlm FB je. Nak dipendekkan cite, kat lobby OU tu Watson buat promotion for Blackmore supplements. Masa balik KB baru ni pon aku ada cakap dgn Babah about this add on TV pasal Kordell supplements for rheumatoid or osteoarthritis (Yup, dad is suffering from gout and athritis on and off). Price shown on the add was RM188.00. Aku tanya Babah, tak nak try ke? Babah kata boleh gak kalau orang nak sponsor. Aku senyum je la. Dalam hati, Insya Allah.

Skali masa kitorang pi OU ari tu, tengah promotion Blackmore plak. Ni pon lebeh kurang Kordell gak la. Brand je lain. The promotion was to good to resist. A perfect gift for Father's Day. Normal price at RM188.00. Promo price RM129.00 plus you get 50 tablets FOC plus a Watson voucher of RM8.00 that can be redeemed intantly. So you only pay RM121.00. Promotion ends tomorrow at limited stocks. Baru je syok dok tanya2, Danish lak tarik tangan aku. "Ayah, Ayah jangan marah ye? Danish nak kencing". Alamak, at this point of time? Dah la dah nak dekat kul 11 ni. Kang tutup plak. Aisei man, terus aku cepat2 bawak dia to a toilet nearby. Nearby nearby pon, jauh gak la aku jalan. By the time I got back, the booth dah tutup. Frustrated I was. Dah takde rezki kot. Kena beli normal price gak la kot. Aku nekad, esok hari aku akan datang lagi.

Keesokan hari aku pi sana. Aku tarik nafas lega. Sib baek ada stok lagi. Cuma yang frustnya, voucher RM8.00 tu dah takde. So I had to be happy with with RM129.00. Lepas bayar, the cashier said that every purchase above RM80 is entitled for a lucky draw. So dengan bsimillah aku cabut the draw. Bukak2, dapat an RM10.00 voucher from Parkson. Haha. Compared to the RM8.00 voucher which I failed to get, with this Parkson voucher aku untung lagi dua hinggit.

It has been exactly three months since I left the Philippines (yet again) and I still havent had a taste of Filipino food. Here I am waiting probably for nothing and craving for a taste of home. I cant wait to eat Filipino food once more but I dont know how long I have to wait. I do know that when that time comes, I will be reminded of the Philippines as well as the good, gracious, and generous overseas Filipinos I have met in every restaurant and in every country I lived in.

Nursing Homes have been cited by state investigators for failing to perform lifesaving measures on residents who had requested that they be resuscitated. Two nursing homes have been cited for ignoring written orders that residents not be resuscitated. These errors show how using purple wristbands to identify residents who had signed a do not resuscitate order may be helpful. The nursing homes were sanctioned for their inability to follow orders. Legislatures in other states have enacted a nursing home law requiring purple wristbands.

Mark Twain, who was the next speaker, and who, Mr. Peckham said, would view the matter from a different standpoint, took issue with Bishop Potter at once. He said that there was lust for gain and dishonesty, but that it must be admitted that if such a condition was universal this country could not survive. He said that he believed that forty-nine out of every fifty men were honest, and asked if this were true why it was that the forty-nine honest ones could not have their way. The whole matter simplified, he said, was that the wrong man was in authority.
"Now I am here, " said Mr. Clemens, "with the utmost seriousness of manner to tell you what's to be done, and how to do it. I have exercised the trade of unsalaried statesmanship for years. I am a statesman not for reward, but for the peace of mind it brings me. I am too old to learn, but I am not too old to teach.
"Now, to set this whole thing right is very simple. I know all about it. It has been said by somebody, and if it hasn't it will be now, that we must learn wisdom out of the mouths of babes and sucklings or something of that sort. The whole solution of the question rests just there. Fifty-one years ago, when I was fourteen years old, I was a member of a party of a peculiar sort, and it was my belief that if we could have such a party now we would soon clear the political atmosphere. I bring it to you here now for the salvation of this town. The party was called the Cadets of Temperance.
"Its members wore red merino scarfs and walked in church parades and picnics. On entering it a boy had to promise not to smoke," said Mr. Clemens, removing the cigar from his mouth, "never to drink or gamble, to keep the Sabbath, and not to steal watermelons. In fact, you promised to leave behind all the liberties that were of any value, and pursue a career of virtue that was irksome to yourself and a reproach to all other people.
"There were thirty-four members of the party, and they were divided into two factions, the reds and the blues. Five of the members were purchasable, and they had to be purchased every month, when there was an election. Four could be secured on reasonable terms, but the fifth held out for war prices. The bribes were paid in the shape of doughnuts and chewing gum. There were two boys - the most incapable of the lot, but the most enterprising, who were always to the fore. There was Croker Brown on one side and Platt Higgins on the other, and one or the other managed to get himself elected every time. The good boys stood no show at all. They couldn't get elected.
THE ANTI-DOUGHNUT PARTY
"When we had stood this thing a long time, we got an idea. We good boys stepped out when we saw the balance of power with the purchasables, and formed another party. We called ourselves the incorruptibles, but we were not always known by that name. We had obloquy heaped on us, and we got the name of the 'Anti-Doughnut Party' because we couldn't be approached on the usual terms. Well, we started wrong by putting up one of our members for office, and of course he got licked.
But we stuck together, we twelve, and enunciated new principles. They were that none of us would ever accept office of any kind. We are here, we said, to put some virtue into the gang, and we're going to do it. We won't take office, but we warn you - meaning the other two parties - that you've got to put up your best men for office or you won't get our support. We were strong enough to make those terms, and that was the end of the Crokers and the Platts. The good boys were put up, and then we picked the best one and voted for him and he was elected.
There's the problem, gentlemen, solved. What we want today is an 'Anti-Doughnut Party' that won't take office, but will keep the other parties safe. I am sure that it can be done. In a modified form it has been done by the mugwumps, of which body, I am the only living representative. An 'Anti-Doughnut Party' of 60,000 or 80,000 can do the trick. It would spread from the city to the country, and in time it would dictate the nomination of every office holder from constable to President. All it would ask for was the best possible man, and its support would mean the best man's election.
"Not long ago we had two men running for President. There was Mr. McKinley on the one hand and Mr. Bryan on the other. If we'd had an 'Anti-Doughnut Party' neither would have been elected. I didn't know much about finance, but some friend told me that Bryan was all wrong on the money question, so I didn't vote for him. I know enough about the Philippines to have a strong aversion to sending our bright boys out there to fight with a disgraced musket under a polluted flag, so I didn't vote for the other fellow. I've got that vote, and it's clean yet, ready to be used when you form your 'Anti-Doughnut Party' that will want only the best men for the offices, no matter what party they belong to, and which will solve all your political problems.
John Jay Chapman gave what some considered an announcement of the Citizens' Union that they would insist on Controller Coler being nominated for Mayor on the reform ticked. "The Democratic machine wants the emoluments of office, and so does the Republican machine," said Mr. Chapman.
"It seems to me that the most practical way to win a victory for honesty an civic righteousness is by commencing a year ahead. Let us take a man like Coler, for example, and announce our candidate and say to the public, 'Here is our man.' Let us stand together without compromise. Let us say we stand for Coler and no compromise. People may sneer at the Citizens' Union and their efforts at organization, but it is the only way practicable to bring about an end of misrule in municipal government."
Others who spoke to the subject of the evening were St. Clair McKelway, Charles Sprague Smith, and Frank Moss.

148 today, but I woke up today feeling awful and got up, ate some apple sauce and went back to sleep and slept til almost 11. I never do that, I'm always up at 6:30 at the latest, since that's when my toddler gets up. Some people might say that I was detoxing, but I'm pretty sure I was going into ketosis; my body wasn't able to turn fat into the carbohydrates that my brain needed fast enough. This is a major problem with low carb diets, and people can even go into comas from it.

When I was in Nutrition at our JC (I have an associate's degree in health science and was going to be a nurse but changed my mind.) there was a body builder in my class who started the Atkins diet, not to lose weight, but in an effort to build muscle. He went into ketosis and was hospitalized for a week because his kidneys started to shut down. Some low-carb diet promotors say that you just have to deal with the symptoms of ketosis for a week or so, and then it goes away, but that is a risk I'm not willing to take.

I chose to go ahead and eat something high in carbohydrates (applesauce) because I do not think that ketosis is healthy for anyone's body. I thought that with The Maker's Diet, even phase one that is lower in carbohydrates, would have enough in there to prevent ketosis, but apparently it didn't, for me at least. This might be complicated by the fact that I'm breastfeeding, so the necessary sugars that were in my blood stream were grabbed out to make milk (milk is a filtrate of blood) to give to my child. I'm thankful for this! I was able to tell it was affecting me negatively, and I chose to stop.

I'll go ahead and continue on with the diet, but I'm adding back in fruit, especially high carb fruits like bananas and apples. Lots of low-carb diet advacators say that it's just something to get used to, but I'm not comfortable with being in that state. I'm not even particularly trying to lose weight, I'm just trying to eat healthier and get in the habit of eating how the Creator intended.

Some signs of ketosis:
Extreme thirst
Lethargy
Nausea
Lightheadedness

Dangers of Ketosis:
Stress on the kidneys
Damage to the liver and kidneys

Many in the healthcare industry and the attorneys who represent them in South Florida notice trends in law enforcement and criminal prosecutions that are logically preceded by increased audit activity. There are generally surges in prosecutions following increased outlays in Medicare and Medicaid spending on services, claims or equipment. Recently, the federal government has dedicated substantial resources, particularly in South Florida, to the prosecutions of physicians and clinic owners alleged to be engaged in fraud related to the administration of HIV medications; these were preceded by increased audits and overpayment demands with regard to most of the physicians and clinics later prosecuted.
With the 2006 amendments to Medicare and the creation of Part D, there was a tremendous surge in prescription drug spending by the Medicare Program, however the audit activity did not really catch up with the increased spending until recently. In South Florida, private Medicare contractors including Integrity Health, Trust Solutions and National Audit, along with the internal units of drug plan insurers have vigorously stepped up activity with fraud units conducting expansive and coordinated and almost search warrant like audits. The targets of these audit investigations often extend not only to pharmacies, but physicians who issue a large number of prescriptions for expensive medications.
The stakes can be quite high.

I remember watching a short film called The Bridge about a man that sacrificed his son in order to save many lives. He loved his son very much.
One day, he took his son to his job where the man was a bridge operator over a river. The bridge had a train track that ran over it, and it was the mans job to raise and lower the bridge whenever a ship came along the river that had high stacks and would be unable to sail under the clearance of the bridge. The son, at one point in the video, becomes trapped in the gears of the equipment as a train approaches, and the bridge is up. The man must make a decision. If he leaves the bridge up, his son survives, but the passengers on the oncoming train will all surely die. If he lowers the bridge, the people on the train will live, but his son will die a gruesome death.
Max Lucado refers to this tale in his book, God Came Near. He reminds us that though the tale is powerful, and a touching parallel to the sacrifice our Lord made for us when He was crucified on The Cross, there is a major difference between the two stories. The tale about the bridgemaster tells of events that occur that forces the man to make a terrible decision when faced with a horrible dilemma. The Bridge tells of an unfortunate accident that forced the man into making the difficult decision of pulling the lever, lowering the bridge, and allowing his son to die so that the many people aboard the oncoming train may live.
As did the man in the tale, God the Father twisted in grief as Jesus Christ was sacrificed on that cross on Calvary. All of the sinners of the world were given a gift through this sacrifice, though most of them didnt even realize it was happening as it occurred, nor are willing to accept it to this day. But the death of Jesus of Nazareth was no accident. God was not suddenly faced with a horrible decision, and had to pull a lever. The crucifixion was in accordance to Gods plan. The cross was no accident. The moment Adam and Even used their gift of free will to become disobedient to God the wheels were set in motion. Our Lord intentionally planted the tree from which the cross would be carved. He willingly placed the iron ore in the ground from which the nails would be cast. He voluntarily placed Judas, who would betray Jesus, in the womb of a woman. Pilate was assigned to Jerusalem, Calvary was thrust up from the earth, and the tomb was at the ready long before the crucifixion took place.
Jesus was born to die on that cross.
When Easter approaches, Christians begin to talk more and more about the resurrection, as well they should. It is this glorious event that confirms all that Jesus said and did while He walked the Earth. He is the only historical figure to conquer death, to rise from the tomb and walk among his followers again. Oh, what a glorious morning that mustve been. But in the celebration of Easter, we often fail to remember the terrible events that led to His glorious triumph over death.
The birth, life and death of Jesus Christ was prophesied over 700 times in the Old Testament. From Genesis to Malachi, his birth, life, and death is provided to us in vivid detail. We celebrate his birth and resurrection with Christmas and Easter, as well we should. But why is it that often Christians want to avoid discussing the crucifixion?
Jesus was crucified, and without the horror of the crucifixion, the Resurrection would not have occurred. Jesus Christ suffered through agony and pain, suffering in ways that Mel Gibsons Movie Passion of the Christ could not even capture in its gruesome depiction of Jesus Christs final twelve hours. The horror of His death was worse than what the movie depicted, or anything they could ever depict. The suffering was greater than any of us could ever understand. He bore the sins of the entire world, past, present, and future, at that moment in time, and the weight of all that sin was so tormenting to bear that He cried out in torturous suffering, My God, My God, Why Hast Thou Forsaken Me!
On Easter, while you are singing during the church service, be uplifted, inspired, and remember that because He was victorious over death, we are saved. But while you are praising Him, also remember that there is no Easter Sunday without Good Friday. Worship Him, but spend time remembering what Jesus Christ experienced during those final hours before the spear was thrust into his side, and His human heart stopped beating.
The betrayal, the cries by the crowd to Crucify Him!, the beating He received under the orders of Pilate that was so horrid that his inner organs could be seen through the openings of His flesh, the ropes that bound Him as He was led to the cross, the nails that were driven into His hands, the very existence of the soldiers that ensured He was dead on the cross, nor the tears shed by His followers - though each an important and integral part of the story of Christ - were not necessary. They were not necessary because Christ needed not be betrayed, He would have surrendered Himself if need be. He would have driven the nails into His own hands, if need be. He would have died the horrible death, no matter how the events that led to it transpired. He would have sacrificed Himself anyway. It was an act of Grace. A devoted plan of redemption set in motion thousands of years before. The Crucifixion, His lifeless body in The Tomb, and His glorious Resurrection on Easter was no accident. It was a plan set in motion from the beginning so that anyone that so believeth in Him may have salvation.
Pure Love. Pure Devotion. A Pure Lamb for Mans Transgressions.

Men have strip clubs women should be ok with it, what is a fair exchange for women to do?
Men like strip clubs because they are visual they say and they like to go and get aroused by watching women other than their partners without their clothes doing things to try to get them to spend money by sexually exciting them and they get upset because women don't like this idea of their partner spending the evening this way. Personally I don't like it at all as just something to do but if it were a special event, I still don't like it but I would say no problem under that circumstance because I do trust him,I just find the whole thing right and I really don't find our money spent on something like that right either. What to tell his daughters on where he spent his night and is it ok for them to go up there and dance for men?

My question also revolves around women like attention, such as being brought flowers, taken to a niced dinner, listened to. So how would men feel if strip clubs are not womens things if she hired a male escort from a dating service to take her out and wine and dine her for the evening, treat her like a princess, flowers when he gets there, dinner at a nice resturant and let her talk about anything and be very intersted in her opinions and what is important to her. There is not touching involved, no hand holding or kisses, just like a guy that is a friend taking her for a night on the town...bet most men in relationships would have a problem with this, but it is ok for them to go and have these women come to try to talk to them at their tables, dance for them and stick their butts and tits close to them to try to get money and worse yet get a lap dance from them, but a women can't enjoy a night on the town being treated special by a guy she will never see again and be emotionally turned on??? That is what women like, but that is not ok for them, but it is ok for men to say to their women, but we are visual, don't be insecure or controlling. Really?? Why would men not like their women spending an evening with a man she doesn't know, won't see again and will have nothing sexual happen, no touching, no undressing but talking and him buying her nice things. Why would you as a man be insecure about that, come on she is coming home to your right?? You should be happy, she will get emotionally happy with this and then bring that home to you and you will benefit from it by her making love to you and talking all that energy to you. That is what we hear from guys, we get all turned on by them and then you benefit because we will bring that home to you and make love to you great because of it.

Guess my point is, neither of these are what I think is right in a relationship, but I also feel it is unfair that men get all upset and say we are too controling, insecure..well then how insecure are you about a strange man taking your wife out to dinner and emotionally instead of visually giving her what turns her on? You go to get what men say turns them on visually, you go to the strip joint and have strange women stipping for you and getting all sexually aroused by women that are not your partner, well I think this is a fair trade provided the women doesn't sleep or do anything with the guy. If you don't agree, what is a fair exchange for a women to be doing, because strip clubs don't do it for us at all...at least most of us.

Unless you have been existing in a cave, you know that the populace of the United States is aging. Soon the greatest generation will be a deferential memory and the baby boomers will be in full withdrawal mode. This will place a important increase in command on our health care system. This can be a unenthusiastic factor for people who wish to have a health care vocation. They often seek alternating health care models which allow a more special deliveryin the residence.
